چکیده
Background: Mid-trimester maternal serum markers have been used for prenatal aneuploidy screening a long time. The aim of the study was to assess mid-term levels β-human chorionic gonadotropin and alpha-fetoproteins placenta-mediated adverse pregnancy outcomes (PMAPOs) in preterm term pregnancies.
Material methods: A prospective cohort involving nulliparous women with singletons without or fatal fetal abnormalities carried out tertiary care hospital, Morang, Nepal. AFP β-hCG were estimated between 13 17 weeks gestation mother's serum. All values multiples median (MoM) compared PMAPOs.
 Results: obtained 176 300 women. MoM (1.3 vs 1.1) (1.4 higher PMAPOs-affected than controls.
Conclusion:Preterm PMAPOs, but not are more likely present when β -hCG significant 2.0 MoM. If growth is within normal range at 37 gestation, it advisable that increased receive regular care.

Relationship between Maternal Serum Biomarkers (HCG, AFP, UE3, and Inhibin A) in the Second Trimester of Pregnancy and Preterm Labor
Aims: Preterm labor (PTL) is one of the most important medical community problems and the main cause of infant morbidity and mortality after congenital anomalies. Several studies have shown a significant association between the abnormal levels of quadruple test with PTL. However, there is no general agreement on the value of quadruple tests for predicting complications among studies. This study...
متن کاملMaternal serum levels of interleukin-6 and β-hCG in women with hyperemesis gravidarum in the first trimester of pregnancy
Background and Objective: Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is defined as vomiting sufficiently severe to produce weight loss, dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), a pro-inflammatory and trophoblast-derived cytokine has ability to induce trophoblasts to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The purpose of our study was to assay the level of IL-6 and β-hCG in serum of pr...

متن کاملMaternal Periodontitis, Preeclampsia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
Background and Aim: Preeclampsia is a considerable problem of pregnancy. Endothelial dysfunction and placental hypoxia are the current hypothesis of preeclampsia. Chronic inflammation, including periodontitis may provoke systemic maternal and placental pro-inflammatory endothelial dysfunction, which represent a significant risk factor for diseases of vascular origin. So this study was carried o...
